High quality returns only happen with a winning strategy. Ours is built on four key investment selection criteria - social good, strong growth potential, disruptive product or technology, and momentum. For over a decade, we have evolved our decision-making and refined our tactical thinking to adapt to changing market conditions while staying true to these criteria. This evolution will never be complete as the firm continuously seeks to grow average annual return while reducing the volatility of our portfolio.

Critical to executing our strategy and delivering consistent returns is a disciplined risk management. Our rulebook for mitigating risk is rooted in the statistical behavior of individual positions, correlated markets, and the portfolio. We strive for limiting downside risk and smoothing out the volatility of our portfolio with diversification practices by instrument type, segment, industry, market cap, and volatility profiles. Tactically, we employ a risk-focused view of how to structure investment positions by combining instrument types to reduce risk. As our data science capabilities grow, so too will the evolution of risk management.

Founded in 2017 by Michael Brommer, Giving Tree Capital LLC is an asset manager focused on investments in socially-driven change and it based in New York. Michael oversees all strategy, research, and trading activity. Since 2010, well before the formation of Giving Tree Capital and its fund, Michael has been evolving the core strategy and its effectiveness at delivering high quality returns. Our growing team of diverse backgrounds and experience allows us to challenge current thinking so only the best data-driven investment ideas prevail.
